Welcome to my photo gallery, a showcase for my photographs taken in Spain. I shall be posting mostly photos of Spanish towns and landscapes. I’m open to suggestions on how to improve the site, i.e. if you would like to see photos of the Spanish locals or food, for example, I’ll see what I can do.

The majority of my photos – not all of them, and certainly not the ‘old’ ones taken with my Aiptek camera – are available at a higher resolution, superior quality for you to purchase at a cost of 10 Euros each. These can be sent electronically once payment is received via Paypal, or posted in protective sleeving at an extra cost for postage and packing. Contact me for further information. Please feel free to use the PayPal button below to either purchase my photographs, or to donate to help me keep this site up and running.

I hope you enjoy your visual visit. :)

I took these five photographs through a hospital room window in Torre del Mar whilst visiting Paul, my partner of 20 years and father of my 14 year old son. Paul has been hospitalised for almost a month: he was admitted with jaundice and is now dying of end stage liver disease (hepatic cirhossis, alcoholic).

The first three similar-looking photos were taken at sunset, and depict the mood I am feeling presently: great grey sadness.

The last two photos were taken at sunrise, and gave me a feeling of hope and release.

If  you’re looking for an enjoyable, relaxing break then why not rent out Villa Warwick. This spacious property with spectacular views is situated in Puente Don Manuel, a small village in between the slightly larger well-known villages of Vinuela and Alcaucin.

The original sizes of these two photos show more detail of these magnificent high waves on the coastline of Torrox Costa. Needless to say we could not go swimming on this day, but it was still lots of fun to just venture into the water and get knocked down by the waves. :)

The following photographs of colourful belly dancers were taken at the Zoco de Ballix festival in Velez Malaga a couple of months ago. The photos belong to the Velez Malaga Ayuntamiento website. I’m publishing these photos because  (1) my simple somewhat blurred photos did not turn out as good as these and (2) parts of these photos were shot minutes away from where I now live, near the Monasterio de Santa Maria in the Centro Historico part of Velez Malaga, a colourful area full of character.

Many thanks go to the talented, professional photographer of these photographs.

On an aside….. I’m proposing to do a photo session next month from the monastery (permission has already been granted to me) of the stupendous views from its gardens overlooking the town.

These are the last in the series of the local walks’ photos taken in the Puente Don Manuel, Alcaucin area. I have moved away from that area to the town of Velez Malaga. Hopefully, time permitting, me and my dog will once again visit Puente Don Manuel, specifically the scenic landcape of the olive orchards.

Even more photographs from a series of photos which I took whilst walking the dog in the area behind my villa in Puente don Manuel, Alcaucin. I walked a lot! The scenery is so wonderfully diverse. I would marvel when taking a photograph of the scenery even on a day when usually blue sky sometimes threatened with rain clouds that changed the colours and effects of the landscape. I found this so fascinating, and tranquil.

These two photographs of the sun rising early morning over Torrox Costa in Andalucia, Spain were taken by my good friend and keen photographer, Anthony Whittard.

These photographs form a series of photos which I took whilst walking the dog in the area behind my villa in Puente don Manuel, Alcaucin. The tranquil long walks – and sometimes “climbs” – were through the paths in the olive orchards.

Beautiful Cordoba….. I took these photos during a visit to see the annual ‘Los Patios’ show in May 2008. My Spanish language teacher had arranged the day trip for her students – both English and Spanish – to see not only the gardens where the local people show off their beautiful displays of flowers, but also a couple of the famous landmarks in Cordoba. It was a long, tiring (lots of walking) day, but well worth the experience. Perhaps next I’ll move to Cordoba.  :)
